Anglican Parish of St John the Evangelist, Molong, Diocese of Bathurst
POSITION VACANT: RECTOR
Anglican Parish of St. John the Evangelist Molong- Diocese of Bathurst NSW
Molong is situated in central west NSW, 292 km from Sydney, population 2577. It is just 37km from the thriving town of Orange NSW, which has a population in excess of 40,000.
Although Molong is a small town, the Anglican Church is very active. It has an enthusiastic and active congregation, which also draws parishioners from surrounding towns. The majority of parishioners are farmers, but there are also professionals, retired professionals and clergy, who value their church greatly. There are a good number of young families and also has its share of elderly parishioners. In recent times, children have been trained as acolytes and crucifers. The blend of young and old works very well at St. Johns.
St. Johns has a very strong liturgical and sacramental tradition which it wants to maintain. Music is an important part of the Parish, which boasts an excellent organ and beautiful grand piano.
The Church buildings are in excellent condition, with recent renovations. Molong is a charming village which has all the facilities one needs, and the nearby town of Orange, where the previous rector chose to live, is only 30 minutes away and has first class medical and educational facilities.
The previous rector was employed for 4 days per week.
The position is part time.
Salary is negotiable.
