Gallipoli Anzac quilt triptych
A quilt of more than 4000 squares, made by quilters from the Cranbourne Uniting and Anglican churches, now graces the Cranbourne RSL Club.
October 4 2015A Gallipoli Anzac quilt triptych, made by a group of quilters from the Cranbourne Uniting and Anglican churches, was presented to the Cranbourne RSL on 27 September.
The triptych, which took a year to make, was designed by the Revd Wendy Snook, who led the quilters to apply to the Department of Veteran Affairs for a grant to assist with the fabric and quilting costs.
The triptych banner measures four by two metres and consists of 4,888 two inch squares. The left panel depicts the dawn call to service; the middle panel shows the landing at Anzac Cove, and the right panel shows Anzac Day at the Cranbourne Cenotaph.
