The Reverend Stephen Hill

March 8 2019The Reverend Stephen Hill died on Sunday 3 March 2019.

After pursuing his interest in science and teaching disciplines including studying Chemistry (Swinburne University), Teaching (Toorak Teachers College) and Applied Biology (WWIT Wagga Wagga) Stephen refocused on his calling. He studied at Flinders University, (Pastoral studies majoring in Sociology) and RMIT University (Organisational change). After studying at Deakin University and Flinders University, he was ordained Deacon in the Diocese of Ballarat in 1983 and to the priesthood (also in Ballarat) that same year.

Stephen worked as Chaplain at Caulfield Hospital until 2018 and Associate Priest at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Port Melbourne until 2019.

He served in Warrnambool (1983); Rupanyup (1984-86); ITIM (1987-99); St John’s Toorak (1992-93); St Silas’ Albert Park (2002-3); St Catharine’s Caulfield South (2004-11); and Chaplain of Caulfield General Medical Centre (2011).

We give thanks to God for the life and ministry of the Reverend Stephen Hill and pray for Deidre and his family at this difficult time.

The funeral was held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Tuesday 12 March at 10.30 am.
