The Revd Charles Edsall Alexander Sligo
September 12 2015The Revd Charles Sligo died on Saturday morning at Bendigo Hospital, aged 85.
Charles Sligo was made a deacon in 1953 and ordained in 1954 in Melbourne.
His ministry in the Diocese of Melbourne, as Curate from 1953 to 1955 and Assistant Priest from 1955 to 1969 at St Andrew’s Brighton; Chaplain/Assistant Master of Brighton Grammar School from 1955 to 1962; Chaplain Australian Military Force from 1957 to 1974; Minister in Charge of Brighton Grammar Junior School from 1963 to 1969; Head of Gippsland Grammar School in 1970; Honorary Assistant Priest at Sale Cathedral in 1970; Principal of St Anne’s and Gippsland Grammar School/Examining Chaplain from 1971 to 1974; Head of Ivanhoe Grammar School from 1975 to 1995. Retired in 1995 and thereafter held a PTO with the Diocese of Melbourne in 1995.
His funeral service was held on Thursday 10 September 2015 at Christ Church Anglican Church South Yarra.
