The Revd Alexander Charles Hamilton Crigan
February 18 2016The Revd Alexander Charles Hamilton Crigan died in St John of God Hospital Geelong, on Monday February 15th after some years in care in Ocean Grove.
After studying at Moore Theological College, Alex was ordained Deacon in Sydney in 1947, and ordained Priest that same year, also in Sydney.
After serving as Curate in Enfield from 1947, he was appointed Chaplain to the Mission to Seafarers from 1948-50. Service in the United Kingdom and Germany followed from 1950-52 followed.
Alex moved to Victoria and served as Assistant Chaplain to the Mission to Seafarers from 1952-55; Priest-in-Charge Reservoir West 1955-61; Incumbent of Melbourne East 1961-70; Rural Dean Melbourne City 1964-70; Incumbent Mt Eliza 1970-81; Area Dean Frankston 1979-81; and Incumbent Point Lonsdale 1981-87.
He retired in Point Lonsdale in 1987 and received the Archbishop’s Permission to Officiate.
His funeral service will be held at St James Point Lonsdale at 2.00pm on Wednesday 24th February at St James, Point Lonsdale.
