The Revd Victor Maddick

July 6 2017We recently learned that Victor Maddick died and a private funeral was held on Thursday, 29 June.

After studying for the degree of Bachelor of Arts at the University of New Zealand and also receiving a Diploma of Education, he was ordained Deacon in Christchurch (NZ) in 1943, where he was also ordained Priest.

He served as Curate in the Parish of Addington (Christchurch) (1943-45); Vicar of Little River (1945-47); Chaplain of St Peter’s School (1947-50); held Permission to Officiate in Fiji (1951-53); was Headmaster of Launceston Grammar Preparatory School (1954-57); Chaplain of Mentone Grammar School (1958-63); Citizen Military Forces (1960); Director of Council for Christian Education in Schools (1963-68); Senior Chaplain of the Third Military District (1967-75); Vicar of St John’s Toorak (1968-78); Vicar of St Mark’s Camberwell (1978-81); member of the Locum Staff (1981-2008) and held Permission to Officiate in Melbourne (1981-2014).

Victor moved to Clayton on retirement.

We give thanks to God for the life and ministry of the Reverend Victor Maddick and pray for his family and friends at this time. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
