Eternity News will cease production in April, after an announcement from owner the Bible Society Australia.

Chief executive Grant Thomson said the Eternity News print magazine, website, weekly newsletter, social media platforms and the Eternity Jobs website would cease as of 30 April.

Mr Thomson said he praised God for the profound impact Eternity News made on the Australian Christian landscape, and the blessing it had been to readers.

Mr Thomson thanked readers and contributors who supported Eternity News throughout its journey.

He also thanked the Eternity News team for their dedication, including recent leader Rebecca Abbott and founder John Sandeman.

Eternity News announced in June 2022 that it would move away from reporting on current events from a Christian perspective.

In this announcement, chief executive Grant Thomson said the news cycle was an increasingly contentious space.
